Some Big News

Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News (via Ridiculous Upside) is reporting that the NBDL will be coming to Frisco.  For those not in the know, Frisco is a fast-growing local suburb and the hot, young thing in the metroplex.  Mark Cuban has confirmed the scoop with HoopsWorld.

No official word yet on whether the affiliate will be Mavs exclusive (a la San Antonio), but this could be absolutely tremendous news.  Creating a farm system is a big step toward the youth movement the Mavs need, and the D-League is the perfect place for a team of low-risk with the potential for solid returns.  More to come.

    Finally! Somewhere we can stow away all our bad pickups. Anyone remember Antoine Rigadeau or whatever his name was? If only there were a D-league team for him back then…

    That’s good stuff though, would be especially nice if it were a Mavs exclusive.
