    I bet Denver in six.

The only person on the Denver roster who even remotely scares me is the Birdman.

muahahha i LOVE it. no one is giving us a snowball of a chance. the "Expert Picks" section of our series on ESPN.com has us getting ass whipped. not one dude picked us to prevail, and only one predicted we'd even take it to 7.

like JET said before the SA series, "ok...well we'll see if Dallas is who you want to play."

Dallas in 6. I'm gonna say it.
  • I will be there (with bells on) cheering for the Mavs the first game at home!! And screaming my lungs out in my living room the other games!!|
    GO MAVS!!!!!

as brian points out, the nuggets D doesn't exactly intimidate Dirk. he's gone to town on them each game. so has Jet, going off for about 20 per game. accounting for J-Ho's limited play against Denver, and looking at how close we've played them regardless, I'd say we have more than a solid shot. Josh is playing the best basketball he's played in 2-3 seasons, and our bench is finally coming through. clutch timinig.

This is going to be interesting. Both teams just spent round 1 owning their opponent, although the Spurs didn't quit on the series when it started. Denver did win every game in the regular season against the Mavs, but 3 of those wins were by a combined 7 points.

I've been hearing rumblings about Kenyon Martin's ability to shut down Dirk (since he killed David West so handily), but over the course of his career, he's never proven he can do so. For example, this season against the Nugs, he went for 30.0ppg on 44% shooting with almost 10 FTA. If you look back even to his time with the Nets, Dirk's stats against pre and post-surgery Kenyon are virtually identical to his season averages.

On the flip side, Billups against the Mavs this season went for 14.5ppg on 33% shooting. Now, obviously this is the playoffs, and Billups has made his bones in the postseason his whole career, but I felt it was worth noting that Jason Kidd can apparently cover him pretty well.

The real problem lies in covering Anthony. I have to hope that Josh can bring some heat on that front.

    I'm looking forward to it.
